For the Boys

Here is the gift idea for the little boys out there, as promised.  This is a lovely little sweater.  Unfortunately I could not convince Landon to model today.  He is too busy running around the house to actually slow down enough for pictures.

12 Month Size Shown
Here is a cute tidbit about me while I was making this sweater.  I was on a business trip and had taken this along with me for a time killer.  I was working on the sleeves and knew they were supposed to measure 8 1/2 inches in length when they were finished.  Me being the skilled person that I am found a letter size sheet of paper and measured.  Only problem was I used the wrong end of the page.  The sleeves on this one measure 11 inches.
This project ranges from 6 month size to 2T.
Now for the pricing on this awesome sweater: $15.00
Don't forget to email me with size and color requirements.

The Cuddlecoon

Tonight is dedicated to those moms who love to cuddle with their newborns.  It can also be dedicated to those moms who have a rough go with swaddling.  Tonight's gift idea is perfect for both.

Newborn Cuddlecoon

Again please pardon the amateur photography.  This looks like a sleeping bag with no zipper.  That is the brilliance of it!  Your little one will stay cozy and warm in this lovely gift idea.
The finished length on this is 24 inches.  Cost for this Cuddlecoon is $15.00.  Colors, yarn types, and the length can vary.  Please email me with the order details.

An Original

Good evening one and everyone!
Tonight I would like to introduce a project that is all my own.  Now some of you may already know this about me, but I tend to not follow a fashion accessory trend until it has been out for about a year, and almost a thing of the past.  With that being said I give you the flowered headband!

This headband is actually a pattern I found on a different blog, but he flower is my own creation. As you can see, there is no button, but there should be.  These are the headbands that were all the rage about a year ago.  I always thought to myself I should figure out how to make them, but never really found the motivation to do so.

This headband on the other hand I figured out how to make all on my own!  Major success in my life.  I was at work two weeks ago and one of my coworkers asked if I knew how to make these.  I said I could figure it out assuming I would find a pattern online.  And I did.  The problem is when I get an idea in my head it is very specific and I will not settle.  I was running into the problem of the crocheted headbands not looking like the knitted ones.  Then I found a pattern on Etsy.  I was pretty excited and then discovered it was sold out.  So I looked at the picture online and figured out my own pattern.  Yeah, I am awesome.

Here is how ordering for this headband will work:  I need you to email me the head circumference for the person the headband is for and the color(s).  The flower options are endless.  Anything from giant to several small flowers.  From 2D to 3D.  Also stems, leaves, and vines are also options.  Now for the uncomfortable part; price.
Newborn-Toddler $4.00
Child-Teen $6.00
Adult $10.00
As always email me with the pertinent information and deadline.

Happy Holidays and Welcom to That Yarn Girl!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with crochet think texture, color, and beauty.  For those who are terrified by crochet and are concerned I am one of those crazy crochet ladies who can crochet anything and then wear it, display it, or otherwise embarrass me and those around me, you will be disappointed.

The launch of this blog is to give everyone an opportunity to share in my talent and create something for you that you will always treasure.  To kick things off, I will introduce a different gift idea for the next week, so stay tuned as the Christmas festivities are about to begin!

Tonight's gift idea is for those of you who have babies in your family.  As the days grow colder, keep your little peanut's feet warm with ballet slipper-style booties.

Please pardon the amateur photography, it is not my strength.  As you can see these cute little booties are perfect for that baby girl in your life.  Please email me if you would like details on how to order these cuties, and how to have a custom order done.
